Par for the Course

Taking a break from typing...to type something else...

I love days like today. Give me rain and a breezy day over 30 degree weather anytime.

I figured that since my thesis was progressing, why not stall that progress and take some time off? That's what I've done for the past few days. I golfed with more success than usual over that span of time, and I've already worked my shifts at Extra Foods for the week. So does this mean I should be typing during the Labour Day weekend? I'd like to be half-done EVERYTHING by then, so I suppose I should...but football takes precedent ;)

Despite the title, I took in a great movie with Ashley and Rhiannon Tuesday night called Little Miss Sunshine. It had Steve Carell in it, so I had to see it. Beautifully done satire about children's beauty paegeants and the imperfections of one such family that has a kid entered in it. I highly recommend this flick. I was fully prepared to see Snakes on a Plane before I heard about this one.

Paid a visit to Dana and Zach yesterday before work, with a gift in tow for their newborn Oliver. I thought to myself: if I was a baby today, what would I want to wear? A track suit with a football on it, most definitely. I also got to experience a first: holding a baby. I was in awe of what I was holding; his head was no bigger than my hand, his hand no bigger than my pinkie. And he didn't throw up on my new jersey, which was an added plus!

I purchased a kicking tee the other day. I want to see if I have adequate game left in me to see whether or not I should sign myself up for this Kick for a Million CFL contest. If chosen, I don't want to make an ass-clown out of myself on national TV, so I should probably practice ;)

OK, time to put the boots to Chapter 2 once and for all.
